About Us

In these turbulent times, we believe it has never been more important to have a financial advisor who asks the right questions and can create a framework designed to help you achieve your own, your family’s, and your business’s objectives. Our branch has thirty-nine financial advisors, which gives us the opportunity to share ideas and resources and to offer clients strategies that come from years of combined wealth management knowledge and experience. We work hard to gain clients’ trust and we take the responsibility that comes with that trust very seriously.

Community 

Through our volunteerism and charitable outreach, our Branch helps support the economic, social and cultural life of the places in which we live and work. In virtually every Merrill location across the country, employees are involved in fundraising activities meant to benefit their many neighborhoods and causes. And as a local Branch office, we feel it is important for us to “give back” and help maintain vibrant, healthy communities and non-profit organizations.

James Roeske is the Resident Director of the La Jolla Branch Branch, and performs a dual function as financial advisor and team leader. James works closely with the Market Executive and concentrates on building the office and culture—including sourcing and hiring, staff development, and taking an active role in the community; leading the client experience standard—which includes coaching advisors and setting a client-centric tone and vision for the office; and leading risk and compliance activities— such as helping to ensure communication and coordination with the local Office Management Team.
